ज्योतिष के अनुसार ये शुक्र देव और लक्ष्मी जी की कारक वस्तु माना जाता है। इसको पास रखने मात्र से ही हर इच्छा पूरी होने लगती है। इस चिराग से हर तरह का वास्तु दोष दूर हो जाता है।
धन और भौतिक सुख के कारक शुक्र और लक्ष्मी की प्रिय वस्तु माने जाने वाले इस चिराग को दक्षिणावर्ती शंख कहा जाता है।
साधारणत: मंदिर में रखे जाने वाले शंख उल्टे हाथ के तरफ खुलते
हैं और बाज़ार में आसानी से ये कहीं भी मिल जाते हैं लेकिन दक्षिणावर्ती शंख एक दुर्लभ वस्तु है। ये आसानी से नहीं मिल पाता है क्योंकि दक्षिणावर्ती शंख को लक्ष्मी का स्वरुप माना जाता है। इसलिए ही ज्योतिष में बताया गया है कि दक्षिणावृत्त शंख घर में होने पर लक्ष्मी का घर में वास रहता है। तंत्र शास्त्र ने भी इस अनोखे चिराग के लिए कहा है कि सीधे हाथ की तरफ खुलने वाले शंख को
यदि पूर्ण विधि-विधान के साथ लाल कपड़े में लपेटकर अपने घर में
अलग- अलग स्थान पर रखें तो हर तरह की परेशानियों का हल हो सकता है।
✅ दक्षिणावर्ती शंख पुण्य के ही योग से प्राप्त होता है। यह शंख जिस घर में रहता है, वहां लक्ष्मी की वृद्धि होती है। इसका प्रयोग अर्घ्य आदि देने के लिए विशेषत: होता है।
✅ घर में यह शंख रखने से सम्मान की प्राप्ति, लक्ष्मी वृद्धि, यश और कीर्ति वृद्धि, संतान प्राप्ति, बाँझपन से मुक्ति, आयु की वृद्धि, शत्रु भय से मुक्ति, सर्प भय से मुक्ति, दरिद्रता से मुक्ति मिलती है ।
✅ दक्षिणावर्ती शंख में जल भरकर उसे जिसके ऊपर छिड़क दिया जाये तो वह व्यक्ति तथा वस्तु पवित्र हो जाता है |
✅ सीधे हाथ की तरफ खुलने वाले शंख को यदि पूर्ण विधि-विधान के साथ लाल कपड़े में लपेटकर अपने घर में अलग- अलग स्थान पर रखें तो हर तरह की परेशानियों का हल हो सकता है।
✅ दक्षिणावर्ती शंख को तिजोरी मे रखा जाए तो घर में सुख-समृद्धि बढ़ती है।
✅ वास्तु-दोषों को दूर करता है, यह शंख जहां होता है वहां कई तरह के रोगों से मुक्ति मिलती है। इनके पूजन से श्री समृद्धि आती है।
✅ दक्षिणावर्ती शंख जहां भी रहता है, वहां धन की कोई कमी नहीं रहती।
✅ दक्षिणावर्ती शंख को अन्न भण्डार में रखने से अन्न, धन भण्डार में रखने से धन, वस्त्र भण्डार में रखने से वस्त्र की कभी कमी नहीं होती। शयन कक्ष में इसे रखने से शांति का अनुभव होता है।
✅ इसमें शुद्ध जल भरकर, व्यक्ति, वस्तु, स्थान पर छिड़कने से दुर्भाग्य, अभिशाप, तंत्र-मंत्र आदि का प्रभाव समाप्त हो जाता है।
✅ किसी भी प्रकार के टोने-टोटके इस शंख के आगे निष्फल हो जाते हैं।
पूजन और स्थापना की विधि :
तंत्र शास्त्र के अनुसार दक्षिणावर्ती शंख को विधि-विधान पूर्वक जल में रखने से कई प्रकार की बाधाएं शांत हो जाती है और भाग्य का दरवाजा खुल जाता है। साथ ही धन संबंधी समस्याएं भी समाप्त हो जाती हैं। दक्षिणावर्ती शंख को लक्ष्मी का स्वरूप माना जाता है। इसका शुद्धिकरण इस प्रकार करना चाहिए- लाल कपड़े के ऊपर दक्षिणावर्ती शंख को रखकर इसमें गंगाजल भरें और कुश के आसन पर बैठकर इस मंत्र का जप करें :
“ऊँ श्री लक्ष्मी सहोदरया नम:”
इस मंत्र की कम से कम 1 माला जप करें और इसके बाद शंख को पूजा स्थान पर स्थापित कर दें |
Benefits of Dakshinvarti Heera Shankh –
A majority of conch shells open on the left side, i.e., they are formed anti-clockwise. In contrast, those that open on the right side, i.e., formed clockwise, are rare, but very auspicious to keep in homes. These are expensive. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi resides permanently in white conch shells that open on the right side (Dakshinavarti shankh). Both, Goddess Lakshmi and the right-sided conch shell have their origin in the sea and are believed to have the same father. A right-sided conch shell is considered the younger brother of Goddess Lakshmi.
It is believed that whoever owns a pair of right-sided conch shells shall always hold exalted positions and be successful in whatever he does. Misery and failure keep away. Daily reverence and methodical offering of prayers to it shall bring success and fulfilment. When it is placed in a shop, it promotes success in business. At home, it attracts wealth and happiness. Placed with foodgrains, it promotes prosperity. It is truly a symbol of glory and prosperity.
In the Lakshmi Samhita, it is described as capable of attracting wealth and success. Maharishi Vishwamitra notes that to attract prosperity and happiness, this conch shell is incomparable.
Maharishi Markanday has explained that on all occasions when one prays to Lakshmi, the right-sided conch (DakshinaVarti Shankh) shell gives ample testimony of its ability to attract wealth and prosperity.
According to ancient scriptures , there is a story behind Heera shankh. Long back old poor lady named Heera-ujawala used to stay in a village at North East India, earlier River Ganges used to flow there. She was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi. Once there was an epidemic that spread in the village and the villagers were dying. Her two sons and their wives too came in the grip of that epidemic and caught the disease. To save the lives of her sons, daughters in law and the rest of the inmates of the village and bring the prosperity again in the village She was told in her dream to do fasting and worship of Laxmi Narayan. Since she was an ardent devotee and was doing very severe penance to please Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi, Lord Vishnu appeared and promised her that very soon the village will be free from all epidemic and all affected village inmates will soon be blessed with good health. But to bring prosperity she was advised to worship Dakshinavarty Laxmi Shankh as Goddess Laxmi can be pleased easily with the worship of Dakshinavarty Shankh. With the blessing of Lord Vishnu very soon the village was free from diseases. Heeraujawala continued her penance to please Goddess Laxmi. While she was performing the penance, it is said that very heavy rains started and the water from the ocean started overflowing and one strong wave of ocean unlit the ‘Agni Jwala’(the fire which was lit to undertake the yajna) and destroyed the complete place and taken away all ‘Ahutis’ and donations like fruits, utensils etc. along with the wave itself to the ocean. This made the Heera-ujawala very sad and in the rage of anger she cursed that the place used immediately be relieved of ocean and become plain. That place has number of water species especially there was a high concentration of Dakshinavarti Shankhs and suddenly when the water receded, these species remained there and could not go back to the ocean.
